The basis of the family is husband and wife Prophet Muhammad ﷺ instructing said: «Remember that you and your spouses have responsibilities towards each other.» Narrated (Tirmisy, «Rada», 11; Ibn Majah, «Nikah», 3).
Duties of a husband to his wife The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, meaning: «In this world I value pious women most of all, incense and the light of the eyes - Namaz.»
⇒ 1) A husband should treat his wife well and love her.
Kyr`ane said (Sura «en-Nis», 4/19):
ا أيها الذين آمنوا لا يحل لكم أن ترثوا النساء كرها ولا تعضلوهن لتذهبوا ببعض ما آتيتموهن إلا أن يأتين بفاحشة مبينة وعاشروهن بِالْمَعْرُوفِ فَإِن كَرِهْتُمُوهُنَّ فَعَسَى أَن تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَيَجْعَلَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا
It means: «Oh, you who believed! You are not allowed to inherit and inherit wives [those whose property you inherit] against their will. Do not forbid them to take part of the mahr that you gave them [at the time of marriage], unless they have committed obvious adultery. Treat your wives with dignity. If they are unpleasant to you, then it may be that Allah will turn the unpleasant to you for a great blessing.»
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
It means: «Those who have a good character have perfect faith. The best of you is the one who treats his wife well.» Narrated (Tirmisy, «Rada», 11; Abu Dawud, «Sunnah», 15).
⇒ 2) A husband must earn money in a halal way in order to provide his family with food, clothing and everything necessary ...
Once the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the rights of women, and he replied: «If you eat yourself, then feed her, if you buy clothes for yourself, then buy them for her. Don't hit her in the face, don't call her names, and after a quarrel, don't leave your wife alone in the house.»
⇒ 3) A husband should help family members comply with religious precepts.
The Prophet ﷺ said: «If Allah endowed you with a righteous wife, then He helped in half of the religion. So let this Muslim fear Allah in the remaining half.»
⇒ 4) A husband should not be rude and cruel to his wife, she should be treated gently.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: «A man should not hate his wife, for if he does not like one of her character traits, then he should be content with another trait.» Narrated (Muslim, «Rada», 61).
⇒ 5) A husband should be patient with his wife's shortcomings, be meek and gentle.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: «Treat women well, because, indeed, they are created from a rib, and its upper part, the tongue, is distinguished by the greatest curvature. If you try to straighten an edge (that is, change what is inherent in women from birth), then you break it (that is, you spoil your relationship with her), and if you leave it alone, then it will remain crooked, so always treat women well.» Narrated (Bukhari, «Anbiya», 1; «Nikah», 80; Muslim, «Rada», 60).
⇒ 6) A husband should try to cheer up his wife, joke with her.
The Prophet ﷺ said: «When a husband looks at his wife and she looks at him with love, then Allah Almighty turns His mercy on them. When a husband takes his wife by the hand, their sins fall through their fingers.» Narrated by (Ar-Rafigi).
⇒ 7) Do not turn a blind eye to the actions of his wife, which can lead to bad consequences, but did not suspect her of anything bad without reason.
Messenger Allah ﷺ said: «Lasciviousness a woman like sin thousands of male libertines. The piety of a woman like piety seventy righteous.»
⇒ 8) It is necessary to spend money on family evenly, so as not to be stingy, and at the same time not to waste too much.
⇒ 9) should teach his wife a religious knowledge and remind her of the punishment of Allah, if it is too lazy to perform the duties of The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said. «Each of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The ruler is a shepherd and is responsible for the people. Her husband is a shepherd of the family, the wife is a shepherd for her husband's house and children and is responsible for them.» Submitted (Bukhari, «Dzhuma» 11; «Nikah», 81, 90; Muslim,«Imara», 20) In Hadises is written. «Respects to the parents, then you see grace from their children. Be pure wives (ie, do not commit adultery), then they will be clean to you.» Passed (Am-Tabaraani).
Responsibilities of a wife to her husband
⇒ 1) A wife should love and respect her husband, be attached to him, help manage the household and raise children.
⇒ 2) A wife should be economical and not spend money earned by her husband in vain; she should be a good housewife.
⇒ 3) A wife should not ask her husband for what he cannot do, she should be content with what Allah has given and not complain.
⇒ 4) A spouse should not ask her husband for anything, knowing that it is difficult to accomplish or cannot be done at all.
The Messenger of the Most High ﷺ said: «Allah loves those women who are friendly to their husbands and unapproachable, like a fortress, to other men.»
⇒ 5) Do not talk to your husband in a raised voice or shout at him.
⇒ 6) A wife should use perfume and cosmetics for him.
⇒ 7) A wife should be tied to the house and protect her honor.
Prophet Muhammad said: «A woman who performs five obligatory Namaz, keeps Fasting in the month of Ramadan, protects honor and obeys her husband, will be told: «Enter Paradise through the gate that you wish» («250 hadith», p. 186).
