The forced relocation of the entire people in 1944 was carried out with extreme cruelty: people were transported in freight cars, where they died from hunger, thirst, suffocation, and various diseases. Among those who survived, many died in the first years of their stay in special settlements, which resembled labor camps.
Honoring the memory of the deceased brothers and sisters in those terrible events, the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine expresses its sincere condolences to the families affected by the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people and calls for the preservation of the Faith and good traditions of their people.
